DUESSELDORF CARNIVAL 28.02.-04.03.

IT'S STARTED :D
Yearly celebration with thousands of visitors. A festival of drag queens in starting blocks ready to race each other down Duesseldorf's famous night club "Nachtresidenz." Duesseldorf again hosts the annual drag queen race (called "Tuntenlauf") on Saturday evening. Speed is of the essence just as at any race, but heel height, dress and running style are just as important. When thousands line the streets to cheer the drag queens with "Tunte, Lauf!" (run, drag queen!), the motto is: may the fastest and funniest drag queen win.

SYMPHONY OF WATER AND WIND

The menacing, magnificent storm clouds of Wyoming come to swirling life in this time-lapse, "Stormscapes," by photographer Nicolaus Wegner. He braved lightning and the erratic fury of supercell storms to capture these images in the summer of 2013. On planet Earth at any moment there are  about 2,000 cloudy storms and each represents a unique symphony of wind and water
To Wegner  for his recordings under the name " Stormscapes "  tornadoes are not required to reveal the stunning beauty of these huge storms. Magic accelerated footage reveals a different formation of storm clouds swirling and rushing across the sky .
Wegner is by profession a  photographer , not a meteorologist .
Tracking the storm that develops from start to full scale , however , in itself always hides the danger , but carries an irresistible excitement and awe of the magnificent scene .

Movie Friday FREE FALL-FREIER FALL (2013)

Really amazing movie I watched last night. German production with leading actors Hanno Koffler and Max Riemelt. You will not regret it if you take an hour and 41mins to watch this movie.

Marc Borgman (Koffler), a young police officer, is on a training course for the riot control unit. He is not doing well at the police academy, being behind in his group athletically. Cocky and self-assured, Marc does not initially get along with his roommate at the academy, Kay Engel (Riemelt). They have a physical confrontation during exercise, but afterwards Marc apologizes for his aggressive behavior and they become friends. The two begin jogging together regularly, one time during which Kay engages Marc sexually. Confused and hesitant, Marc initially rebuffs him and keeps his distance, but then acknowledges his attraction by continuing to share intimate encounters with Kay.
Simultaneously, Bettina, Marc's longtime girlfriend, is pregnant, and together they have just moved to a new house close to his parents. Complications arise when living a double life begins taking a psychological toll on Marc, as it becomes clear that acting on his feelings for another man could put his personal and professional life in jeopardy.

Beautiful Agony Project

Beautiful Agony began as an experiment, to test a theory that eroticism in human imagery lies not in the body, but in the face; that film of a genuine, unscripted, natural orgasm can succeed where the most visceral mainstream pornography fails, and that is, to actually turn us on.

NO GAY MARRIAGE IN SLOVAKIA?

Leftist Prime Minister says ready to back constitutional amendment drafted by Christian Democracts. Slovakia's leftist prime minister said Tuesday he was ready to back a constitutional amendment defining marriage as a union between man and woman, effectively closing the door to same-sex marriage.
The opposition Christian Democrats and other center-right parties drafted the amendment that will need support from Prime Minister Robert Fico's Smer social democrats for the two-thirds majority required to change the constitution.

The European Union's newest member Croatia outlawed same-sex marriage in a referendum last year, triggering a similar constitutional amendment.

Slovak law defines marriage as a "union between a man and a woman".

No form of same-sex civil union is legal in Slovakia, where more than 70 percent of the population of 5.4 million is Christian, according to a 2011 census.

But a 2012 opinion poll showed that 47 percent of Slovaks supported civil unions for same-sex couples while 38 percent were opposed.

Parliament will debate the amendment during a session starting on March 18.

Same-sex marriage is legal in a handful of the 27 other EU states including Britain and France, while civil unions are notably recognized by the Czech Republic, Germany and others.

LIFE IN PRISON FOR BEING A GAY?

After years of controversy, the Ugandan parliament has passed a bill that punishes certain acts of homosexuality with life in prison.
A Ugandan lawmaker first introduced the bill in 2009, sparking worldwide condemnation for tough measures that included the death penalty.
It was briefly shelved amid the backlash. At the time, some European nations threatened to withdraw aid to Uganda, which relies on millions of dollars from the international community.

Before its passage Friday, parliament adjusted the death penalty clause to life in prison for "aggravated homosexuality." It includes acts where one person is infected with HIV, "serial offenders" and sex with minors, Amnesty International said.
In cases where one has HIV, the punishment applies even when the sex is consensual or protected.
"Ugandans have been anxiously waiting for this bill. This day will be a good day for all Ugandans," said Benson Obua Ogwal, a member of parliament for Moroto.
The bill also proposes years in prison for anyone who counsels or reaches out to homosexuals, a provision that would ensnare rights groups and others providing services to lesbians, gays, bisexual and transgender people.
"The knock-on effect of passing this bill will reach far beyond gay and lesbian people in Uganda, impeding the legitimate work of civil society, public health professionals and community leaders," said Aster van Kregten, deputy Africa director at Amnesty International.
Homosexuality is illegal in most African countries, where sodomy laws were introduced during colonialism. In Uganda, homosexual acts are punishable by 14 years to life in prison, according to rights activists.
But lawmakers in the conservative nation sought tougher legislation, saying Western lifestyle risks destroying Ugandan family units.
"This is a piece of legislation that is needed in this country to protect the traditional family here in Africa, and also protect the future of our children," David Bahati, the lawmaker who first introduced the bill, said last year. "Every single day of my life now I am still pushing that it passes."

Rights groups urged President Yoweri Museveni to veto the bill. To become law, it requires his signature within 30 days.

Steve Grand-Stay

ELI LIEB

Why I discover this guy just a few days ago?
Someone says "my finger still hurts me from hitting the refresh button on Steve Grand's All American boy video"...now...u can check the new raising star Eli Lieb. Ok, maybe not the raising star, but really cute guy with amazing voice. Yes, he is pretty on the outside, but his voice is what draws you inside to a heart and soul that set this hot young indie singer/songwriter apart from similar musicians on the road to fame. This guy is from USA and openly gay singer/songwriter. He is turning in excelent covers of all of the pop hits on the Billboard charts. Also, don't miss his Young Love and Place of Paradise. BETWEEN SINNERS AND SAINTS

BETWEEN SINNERS AND SAINTS
by Marie Sexton

After good movie I think it's time for a good book review :D

Levi Binder is a Miami bartender who cares about only two things: sex and surfing. Ostracized by his Mormon family for his homosexuality, Levi is determined to live his life his own way, but everything changes when he meets massage therapist Jaime Marshall.

Jaime is used to being alone. Haunted by the horrors of his past, his only friend is his faithful dog, Dolly. He has no idea how to handle somebody as gorgeous and vibrant as Levi.

Complete opposites on the surface, Levi and Jaime both long for something that they can only find together. Through love and the therapeutic power of touch, they’ll find a way to heal each other, and they’ll learn to live as sinners in a family of saints.

A YEAR WITHOUT LOVE (2005)

An interesting movie I watch last night.
In "A Year Without Love," background ticking sounds represent the life clock of Pablo (Juan Minujín), a youngish gay writer afflicted with AIDS, and count down the passing seconds of his dreary existence. It is based on the diaries of the real-life Pablo Peréz, who is listed as the screenwriter, with the director, Anahí Berneri. This intriguing but never fully arresting film by a first-time feature director recounts in uncomfortable close-up Pablo's day-to-day activities inside the apartment he shares with a mentally unstable aunt in Buenos Aires and a hospital to which he makes regular visits. He occasionally engages in (protected) sexual acts with strangers at a local porn theater, but it's his involvement with an S-and-M group — and his attraction to Martín, one of its core members — that strengthens his desire to live. The film boldly combines vigorous promiscuity with sexually transmitted disease and reveals rare insight into the endurance and treatment of illness, but getting through it requires a level of commitment audiences may be reluctant to invest.

Man of the week

DAVID LEON

David Leon was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and was a talented footballer. When he left school age eighteen he successfully auditioned for the National Youth Theatre and turned down a place at Drama school in order to take a role in Oliver Stone's 'Alexander', though he established himself with British television audiences in the Bafta nominated drama 'Cutting It' and starred as Billy the Kid in a BBC film about the Wild West legend. He played the lead character in renowned photographer Rankin's debut feature 'The Lives of the Saints' written by Toni Grisoni and appeared in Guy Ritchies Empire award-winning Rock'n'Rolla, in which he plays Scottish junkie Malcolm a part initially written for Brad Pitt. He is regarded as one of the UK's brightest up and coming talents.
